Building a more equal world by eradicating period poverty*.

*Period poverty can be defined as the lack of access to safe menstrual products, as well as inaccessibility to menstrual and reproductive health education.

THE PROBLEM

Period poverty is present in every city around the world, including yours.

A 2023 report by Hystra, reports that over 500 million people cannot access menstrual products on a regular basis due to financial constraints. A misconception we encounter is the belief that this issue is isolated to low income countries, when in fact, it is prevalent anywhere there is a wealth divide.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Consistent access to healthy period products supports physical, emotional and social wellbeing. How?

Reduces financial stress by removing a significant expense for individuals and families.

Improves wellbeing by giving individuals an organic cotton and hypoallergenic product choice, rather than having to go without products or use the lowest cost synthetic options that cause many people discomfort.

Gives people dignity by supporting them to make informed product choices, rather than feeling constrained by financial barriers.

Reduces isolation for some people who were now able to fully participate in society even when menstruating.

"As a stay-at-home mom with no extra income, I often have to worry about my family's daily expenses. Luüna's donations have really helped a lot by giving me the necessary period care I need."

- Ludy, community member from Refugee Union Hong Kong

OUR APROACH

Luüna For All

Our Luüna For All program aims to provide regular deliveries of our healthy organic cotton period products to underserved individuals from our network of charity partners. We are committed to creating this kind consistent care, as we don’t believe that one-off drops are the solution, though in some cases are necessary.

What We've Achieved

Over 500,000 organic cotton pads given to individuals in need during and since Covid.

61% of participants said their relationship with their period had improved since joining our programs.

We saw a 27% reduction in girls missing school due to menstruation through our Red Box Project.
